Johnson Beavens III

Johnson A. Beaven III is Pastor of Citadel of Faith COGIC in Indianapolis, IN. He serves as Executive Secretary for the COGIC International Department of Evangelism, and an Administrative Assistant in the Indiana North Central Jurisdiction.  

Pastor Beaven was a former Local Coordinator and instructor for the Interdenominational Theological Center (ITC) Certificate in Theology Program, and a former adjunct faculty at Simmons College of Kentucky and the COGIC C. H. Mason Institute. He has been a religious columnist for The Indianapolis Recorder Newspaper since 2011. 

Pastor Beaven was an inaugural 2012 recipient of the Salute to Indy Gospel Legends People’s Choice Award. In 2014, he was honored for being one of COGIC’s 100 Influential Pastors, and in 2016 he was a recipient of the Award of Distinction from the COGIC International Department of Evangelism. He has been featured in several publications of Who’s Who In Black Indianapolis ®. 

Pastor Beaven is a graduate of Ball State University, Trinity Evangelical Divinity School, and has studied at Assemblies of God Theological Seminary. He is married to Rita Mooney-Beaven.
